Learn and vacation at the same time in our live-aboard 4-Day Power Learn-n-Cruise that provides instruction combined with a cruising vacation. Our most popular course model, this course will take you out in the islands for a long stretch of yachting, exploring and learning, in a relaxing teaching environment.
- You’ll learn the skills essential to skippering a 30' - 42' yacht aboard this comprehensive 4-day course.
- RPBA/Recreational Power Boat Association certification is included, with certification for Close Quarters Manuevering for either single or twin engine. Close Quarters Powerboat Handling is a powerboat handling course that is designed to provide the skills necessary to maneuver a powerboat confidently, competently and safely in tight spaces. Successful completion of the program indicates the student has demonstrated competence in handling either a twin inboard or single inboard in close quarters in light wind and or currents. - The four days will covers cruise and fuel planning, maneuvering in a marina, picking up a mooring ball and anchoring. After yacht systems orientation and training, you’ll spend time learning to maneuver in close quarters and to use line handling techniques to your advantage while docking. You’ll have hands-on maneuvering practice, as well as anchoring practice and tying up to a mooring ball. Training will also include navigation (chart and GPS chart plotter as well as understanding tides and current), route planning, safety and emergency procedures, VHF training, diesel engine troubleshooting and clear understanding of all the boat’s systems.
- There will be opportunities for free time, to go ashore and explore the islands and marinas and to enjoy being on the yacht overnight.
- All meals included, with the exception on one night, when you’ll eat ashore and enjoy the local island dining. Overnight will include anchoring and/or moorage ball as well as staying in a marina in the San Juan Islands. Linens and towels also included.

| Optional Private Stateroom Guarantee: | $195 This option guarantees an individual student a private stateroom (couples always have a stateroom). Sometimes, depending on the number individual students registered for the course, students of the same gender may need to share a stateroom (with separate bedding).
